Emsworth Café News

10 July 2007: It is with a considerable amount of sadness that we have to tell you that Catherine and David have sold Emsworth café. We made the decision purely for personal reasons, we have both very much enjoyed living and working in Emsworth and hope to return one day. We would like to thank all our customers and staff who have supported us over the last 15 months - we couldn't have run the café without you and we will miss you all.

We will keep this website going for purely historical reasons; the new owners have told us that they have no interest in the site.

23 May 2007: At long last we add some more content to the website. We're very sorry that it's taken so long, we've just been so busy in the café!

25 April 2006: Catherine and David took over the running of The Café in historic Emsworth.

So, who were those people who lasted only 15 months?

Catherine and David came from quite diverse backgrounds but shared one thing in common – we'd never run a café before! But we did own and run a Pub near Huntingdon for 18 months which we both enjoyed immensely. The late nights, long hours and the sheer amount of work required to increase the pub's reputation took its toll on us, though, and we regretfully sold up in 2005.

Before the pub, Catherine was a Radiographer and David ran two software companies (HiSOFT since 1980 and MAXON UK from 2001 until 2003).
